Not a good idea, especially if you don't know what you're doing.

Having never explored a train tunnel myself, I cannot speak from experience.
However from what I've heard, it's quite risky, and most are well secured and monitored.

Google for "train tunnels Sydney urbex" or similar, and you'll find heaps of stories etc.

And look out for trains.

I'd recommend staying away from active train tunnels, but there's plenty of abandoned ones around which you can explore more freely.

Easiest rail tunnels to access are the ones for the light rail. Check the timetable for the last service. Even easier still which don't require as much experience are the disused tunnels. There are a few around Helensburgh and look really nice during the day.

done most big train tunnels in sydney not a good idea to go in them now since all jumpspot cameras are monitored and if you dont know what your doing in them you will either get spotted or hit by a train...

Google Otford or Helensburgh tunnels. Thet havent had trains in them for years and are very exciting if youre into tunnels. Don't go alone and have 2 torches. I always have at least 2 and a couple of glow sticks. Have fun.
