[Not it's real name, wasn't sure how the rules applied to this one]

Went for a detour to a reservoir this afternoon:

A lot roomier than I thought

This was one of two beds - the other one was just a sheet with some cardboard but this was a serious setup

This was sitting on a ledge between the two beds

Didn't get many photos of the main room, my camera was quickly running out of battery. Some kids were skating in there and after a while a security guard came. I just can't believe this is all right here and I have never noticed.

I have a few questions though:

For those that had been before the renovation, how far does that air raid shelter go?

Also, from this map (Link removed - Admin), it says 7 of the marked single bunkers (dots) were built, and considering this one (one of the squiggles) was also built, do any of the others still exist? I get the feeling that even if the single ones do exist they are just gonna be sitting underneath people's backyards with not a lot to see.

Similarly, how do currently used reservoirs behave in terms of water levels - eg is there anything special to be careful of?

I think I've been down the tunnel you photographed there, post renovation though. I figured it was to do with pumping water to the city, but I guess it could be an air-raid shelter, would explain the layout in there. Unfortunately it's been filled in where it crosses under the main road, presumably to prevent it collapsing. Would love to know if it continues on and where it comes out.

well there was a small open section of shelter which lead to a tunnel, at the end of the tunnel there was a blast wall. Therefore you could not continue further however on the other side of the blast wall the tunnel continues, i also think there's a part of the tunnel which has collapsed.

I think the tunnel gets to a point where it's been back-filled.

In-use reservoirs are exactly what they sound like. Always full (at least they should be) of water which may very well be part of the drinking supply, i.e. very serious consequences because of potential contamination.
