Hi Wizz,
Havn't done the power station yet, not going in that place by myself, but it looks epic. There's another smaller power station I know of too, but not sure how to get in yet.

Have done the old Kwinana radar site, there's a nice little tower there.

Think I already mentioned Graylands in another post.

Not sure about Swanbourne tunnel, unless thats the one near Freo prison, but there's Swan View tunnel, been to this one, worth a look...

There's a few places around, just gotta know where to look...

Hi there,

Welcome to UEGA!
I figured that sooner or later someone else from WA would join the forums, i'm north of the river now but close to the city. I guess I never went in the power station mainly due to concerns about squatters and junkies etc, i'm not 100% but it seemed to be possible to get to the lower roof not that long ago. You might have checked out some of the posts i'v put on here of some Perth locations, some are still explorable and at least one isn't. I know of a few more good ones around the place as well that I'v either been to, or want to visit soon. Some are pretty much abandoned and some require a bit of balls.

I'm open to the idea of catching up and checking some sites out some time soon, have a few places on the cards for the near future. Do you know anyone else who's into exploring in Perth? Also, do you know any good drains that are explorable?

If you want to go for an explore, send thru a PM and i'll get back to you...

Cheers from Bangers!

I'm kind of surprised that there is quite a bit to explore in Perth. I thought it was just one massive hole.

Hi Merlin,

I envy some of the sites there in the UK, could spend months there exploring..

There's a few good sites around still in Perth, one in the industrial area you mentioned is pretty big, and due to be demolished next year, would like to visit at least once before the wreckers move in.. Havn't been out your way or down south for much of a look, sounds like there's a bit about, just gotta get out there,

Give me a yell if you're interested in going for an explore or looking for some locations, might be able to work something out...

Cheers!

Hi Bangers,

Coming down the hill to look at some sites in the northern suburbs, found some photos on another blog, and know of them. Should be able to look at half a dozen sites.

I don't own a big camera and all the kit, but have a 12mp phone that has 25gb storage which so far has done me well, should have an update after this mission.

..tumbleweeds... :)

Same thing happens with CC, we get a member or 2 in Perth who are keen for a month or so then they dissappear. I guess WA ppl are too busy spending all that mining cashola.

I like that term, seemingly very appropriate :D

There's been about half a dozen locals come and go on these forums, which to a degree has been interesting as a few half decent topside sites were mentioned, but nobody really hardcore seems to be active... I guess too that the sport is somewhat limited here location wise, yes and no though, 2 years ago was a different story, but a lot of disused/abandoned stuff has been demo'd or redeveloped, nobody seems to do drains here anymore (the few decent major ones anyways)

Driving several hours to days from Perth is awesome if you do your research, and it's worth the drive...

There's been a few bloggers that have posted stuff up from Perth, some quite interesting too, but not in recent years, a lot of the locations are now sealed or gone. i'm not sure where those people are at these days, have read news articles about people being busted climbing cranes and stuff too, I guess that the various local people and/or groups seemingly do their own thing by themselves...

Even an attempt to raise local CC members last year was fruitless...

Anyways, I guess being the only 'active' local adventurer that i'm aware of isn't all bad, still spewing I lost my pic's from my first crane climb here earlier in the year, only 90 odd metres, but right to the red light at the top of the jib......

Just popped into my head.

On Mirrabooka Ave there's an old type complex shutting down. I went there last year when I was in Perth, but at the time it was still somewhat active. It's on the left side of the road when you're heading north, just before (or is it just after?) you pass Reid St/Rd. I'll get ya a Google Maps link tomorrow when I'm less drunk.

Hi anyone from Perth.
Im new to the forum but hoping to be an active member. Im originally from the UK and was a keen urbexer in my teens (without realizing it was such a thing).
Ive been in Perth for 10 years and have a young family now. Im just getting back into checking out some fascinating spots that are around. I have done a couple of places and am getting a bit of a list going of some others i would like to see. I recently checked out the Freo power station but im hoping to go back soon as I was by myself and time restricted.

So anyone active on here in WA would be great to swap stories good or bad

I'm in town but pretty busy with work. Most Sundays are good, and random evenings. It hasn't rained for 45 days in Perth- great drain weather.....

I have a few spots on my to do list. Hopefully this week for the second power station vist and going to be checking out a certain ex mental hospital although I think I have missed the boat on this. Apparently access is now well and truly denied. No harm in having a look though.

The hospital is too hard now, as for the drains, there's a few around, photo's exist, but not published by those that took them... There's a bit to check out around the place if you know where to look, most of the best abandonment was gone by Easter last year, only a few accessible ones remain.....
