IME, resolution is better than GE in some areas and images are much more regular and up to date.

One of my favourite tools.

You can also check back different dates for satellite images which is a big help in pinpointing abandoned building judging by the usual signs.. grass growth, lack of parked cars, etc

If you can be bothered, you could probably go to one of the libraries at UQ. I 'think' the library computers have guest login lol. Any connection to nearmap from a UQ connection will automatically login, no password required!
