Any news from MW this week or has it all gone quiet? I won't be checking it out for a couple weeks anyway so no rush I suppose.

Sorry to rehash an old thread but thought I might as well chip in with an update. To keep it blunt and simple, the ladder hasn’t been fixed but my mate and I just said “F*** IT” and did it anyway. Got drenched in the process but was good fun none the less. I don’t think Melbourne Water care enough at this stage until they become truely liable (ie. a worker injures themselves), but I doubt the drain would need much in terms of maintenance. The ladder itself is pretty festy so I guess you just don’t think about it. Aside from a little sway here and there, it’s alright. Good to tick that one off the list :D

Yeah, Gilligan & I took a look in January.
The ladder didn't seem to be as loose. During my previous visit it was the chain was the only thing holding the ladder up. Maybe they did a quick fix?
I might drop them another line.

Yeah it’s safer at least. I don’t think there’s a need to hassle them about it. Probably getting drenched is gonna discourage the less enthused rather than the ladder now anyway. Making it up and down in one piece probably cured my fear of climbing crooked drain ladders held on by chains
