Yes you're right, friends and family are usually welcome, however by that they mean somebody you know and trust, not people you're trying to impress on UEGA.
Phytrix knows I mean no offense to him.
Echo, you seem like a nice guy, and if you used your brain as much as you use your fingers to type you'd be way better off.

And to bring this thread back on topic. Taking a minor with you to dangerous places is risky. Adults are old enough to be 'legally' responsible for themselves, minors are not. Notice I said 'legally', because maturity has no standing in law. If an adult gets hurt or worse, the blame will be placed on themselves. If a minor gets hurt (or worse), what happens is up to their parents/guardian. It doesn't matter how the young person feels about it, or how mature they seem, at the end of the day the young person will have no say in the matter.

And put yourself in the parents shoes, I have a son, and if I found out a group of adults or older boys took him to dangerous places and he got hurt I would blame them as much as I would blame him. When he turns 18yo he can do as he please, till then his life and well being are our responsibility.

Sure, you can't stop young people going out and having fun, it's been happening for eons, my mates and I used to ride our BMX bikes in the canals when we were 12yo. But a line has to be drawn, and the law has already drawn that line for us.
But in saying all that, there are places that young people can explore safely, but usually in company with their parents or somebody else who is legally responsible for them (I have taken my son to many expos).

Ditto, though I prefer to think we're doing life correctly and everybody else is wrong.

I will take your polite request under advisement, though I am partial to offers of bribery and flattery - hint, hint.

It could be that I just need to find better flatmates. One of our dirty dozen lives solely on noodles; his weekly shopping list never changes - 20 packets of Maggi Two-Minute Noodles and as much beer as he can stagger home with. So at least twice a day, our kitchen looks like a noodle bomb just exploded in there.
