Good luck with getting it running.
Its a great feeling when you hear it run for the first time in a while.
I say get it working and keep it.
Is the color special burgundy with toga white roof by any chance?

Hmm it is burgundy with a white roof but not sure about specifics. I think the burg is a little different to the usual one people fo for as the inside of the doors is a lighter burg. I wont be keeping it, no time or $$ for it.

got the mini running, got the brakes working enough and took it for a lap around the block this weekend, has been 11 years but apart from the noise (somethings not 100% - danny, come to bris and tune it for me) it was like i remembered. Slow, low and noisy. time to clean it up, take some nice pics (i have a couple of places in mind) and sell it off

I've always wanted a classic Mini to drop a B18 into. Unfortunately my money is stretched too thin across too many hobbies.

Years ago when I lived in the UK, I did a conversion on an old Mini, we grafted a Lotus Twin Cam onto a mini Gearbox. Went like a cut cat!!!
But looking at Youtube I'd rather do the rear engine conversion using a Yamaha R1 such as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlTCQeE3Afc

You're not a man unless you have a Hayabusa engine in a Fortwo.
