Yeah mate of course. I have trouble lighting a match and don't own a camera.

Just mentioning it just in case.

Cheers

Wear dark clothes too as the flouro top is showing up.

A portable floodlight is also useful. I'm surprised at how bright this is, it can literally light up a whole building:

Move the floodlight around or point at an angle to even out the shadows.
Just a harmless explorer. No need to waste taxes checking me ;)

Hey everyone,

If you are intrested in doing light painting I can recommend quite a few books out there which helped me get get started:

Brent Person - Night Photography

Lance Keimig - Night Photography; Finding your way in the dark

Eric Curry - Crafting reality with light painting

They helped me get started but getting out there and just messing around with any hand held or portable lights is the best way of going about it.
A lot of the stuff too is just improvised and hand made.

Hope it helps and

Ha, no worries. I met him a few times. He certainly has some very cool ideas and pieces of equipment. He was running photography courses a few years ago. He might still be doing them now.

Unsure either, I met a couple a few nights ago that knew him and mentioned his website, would be curious to go to his work shops because I'd really like to know how to diy my lighting gear... but rigging it all up is something I am not familiar with.

Or you could just share some light painting tips or post some of your photos on here...

Hell yeah dude why would you just charge 30 bucks like everyone else. Thats what bought me my mark iii.
Im new here but how do i post pics?? I have some raw copys but not many. U shouldnt need to edit lightpaintings ever. Its all about getting it right in the cropping and focusing in the prep of the shot. Why bother shooting in raw if your going to turn it straight back to a jpeg. All the comps i enter to are strickly no photoshop! The winnings there are 6000 euros for the best shot and a 6d for the runner up. @crispex?? Hope that works
