Toadie was separated from Aquacave when the ICB tunnel was built.
There is now no possible link - hence, Toadie requires its own outfall.

Downstream from the Toadie "bridge room" there is a change from brick to RCP at a left hand bend - this is the diversion. It used to go straight on from this point to join Aquacave, before the RNA underpass was put through.

Would have been great to see the two drains as one... Never mind, still good to explore. Have not ventured far down toadie because of deep mud.. Is it possible to exit at an outfall?

Yeah.
Though not usually submerged, it's very tidal. You'd be swimming!

Is that the section with the metal walkway and ladders? Just drops down, probably waist deep.

No, the walkway and ladder is further down at the outfall. The "bridge room" is referring to the chamber.

It was indeed a good night.

The leaking mains (I assume) was pretty bad, water was coming out of the middle of stone blocks and concrete sections!

I think i read somewhere once that something like 20-30% of the water produced is lost though leaky mains before its used.

Has a strong chlorine odour too, waste of water but keeps the scum at bay

Yeah its such a waste, i heard theres leaks like this in every water main and its cheaper just to let it run then preform constant maintenance on them. I can't remember were but i heard some fact once that as much as 20-30% of water leaks out of water mains before its used.

Oh no they've caught on :o

I actually purchased a dinghy last time to enter from the river, which no doubt has come in use for other purposes since, and received a message from Unclehaggs with the grate entry point while I was on my way there :p my photos are lacklustre though, a revisit is definitely required!

Yeah it's definitely one of the more photographic drains. Only sitting on 2 drains at the moment that I'm really craving to get to, so once I knock those of the list (and locate one of them :p) I'll definitely head back. Hopefully the entry point is back to normal by then
