If you can justify the expense, I can't recommend highly enough Zebralight's torches, especially the SC600 and matching headlight ranges.

In short,
  • They are crazy bright at maximum, to the extent that pointing it at the ceiling in drains and most buildings provides sufficient reflected light to see everything (and take photos!)

    All brightness settings can be accessed from the off position - none of that shitty turn-on-turn-off to swap between settings rubbish

    They have about 12 different brightness settings, of which 6 can be programmed in to be accessed at any timewithout any screwing around

    On the other end of the scale, the lowest brightness is very low (approx moonlight in brightness), and can be used to find stuff in a car without distracting the driver or poking around without drawing attention

    Battery life on medium settings is fantastic!
