Disused RTA Building

The building was created for the Roads & Traffic Authority some time in the mid/late 1968, the facilities were used partially for boring administration stuff, but also for testing safety equipment such as baby capsules and helmets in the “Crash Lab”, the garage was used for storage and preparation of cars to be tested in the lab.

The religious group “Hilsong” purchased the site in 2006 saying they were going to tear down the current site and build a “mega church”, Hilsong’s request was thankfully rejected by the council, and in a bid to gain public support for the demolition of the site, they’ve let if fall into such a state of disrepair that there will be no future use for the building & will therefore be permitted to demolish it.

The building was also used for a rather impressive army training exercise, where they fast roped in from a blackhawk helecopter,http://freenews.com.au/eastern-suburbs/ ... blackhawks

**EDIT**

Apologies the photos are't up to much, twas dark & I had no torch and only my point'n'shoot, but you get the idea.
