Firstly, the above comment is nothing to do with the events :D

Ok, a stack of events have been scheduled.
Obviously I can't post them here and if you're outside of Australia & haven't booked, then it's most likely too late.

If you are coming, I presume you've contacted your Cave Clan buddy or associate, but if you are coming and you haven't made contact, PM me.

It's going to be a huge 4 or 5 days.

Cheers

And what a great 40 years it has been.
More than 200 members & close friends of the Clan showed up to a variety of expos, the 38th Annual Clannies and the 40th Anniversary/Reunion this long weekend. It was great to see so many faces from over the years.

Below is a 1 minute video of us seeing in the anniversary.

40 years ago we started communicating with explorers around Australia & then the world who would see our PO box on TV interviews, then our email address as it started getting around on the early internet, then as members started travelling they would form lasting bonds with other flourishing urbex communities.

I met Ninjalicious after hearing about each other's zines. He became the first international Cave Clan member.

Then for the last 20+ years I have gotten to know more of you via UER & 28 Days Later, then in more recent years, via social media. My style of urbex doesn't click with all of you, but I will always have a chat about exploring and/or the Cave Clan with anyone that reaches out.

I caught up with Edgar last night. When he first joined the Cave Clan, he was considered an old man. He had first done Glass Creek drain 30 years ago.
Last night we worked it out as now being 65 years since he first entered the tunnel. He is 81.

There is so much history in the Cave Clan & I am honoured to have been apart of it for the whole duration.

I had to fill some time before it reached midnight and for us to see in the anniversary, and I said a few things that popped into my head, and I think I might adapt one of them to leave you with.

With all the crap going on, both in the real and urbex worlds, if you can enter a location for an explore and feel younger... have the same feelings you had as a kid you are doing something right. Something that very few adults get to enjoy.

I pretty much threw this one together for myself (I like the song and the old grainy footage). Have a look if you've got a spare 5 minutes.
