Hi UEGA.
I've always called it U E G A so i often didn't know what people were talking about when they mentioned "youega".

I was on UEGA years a go then had a run in with an old Admin (basically told him i wouldn't forget about something he wouldn't help me with, meaning i would always think he was a bit of a carnt but he took it as if i was going go all Tron on his arse)

I was in the Cave Clan for more than 30 years and although i still deal with many of them, i am no longer involved in the group.

They are mostly really nice people in the group, but some have done their best to make the CC something it was never meant to be, so here i am, a freelance part-time explorer saying hi (& bye) to the latest and greatest at UEGA.

It's good to see this place has lasted. It definitely fits in better with the new style of urbex - something that is vastly different to the urbexing from my days but boy we had some fun

Considering all that was so long ago I think it's fair that you're welcome to stay if you wish.

Since you bring up the conflict (although it was before my time) I will say that I 100% agree with the other admin's decision in the matter.

But as long as you're fine with that, either "welcome back", or "hello and so long"

That's one example of where we are totally different then Aydun. If you or anyone came asking for help from someone that was threatening violence towards your wife & children, I would do anything I could to help you, and not use "member's confidentiality" when the person threatening my family wasn't even on UEGA yet. The Admin also told me to go to the cops. The cops asked me if I could get his iP address which is why I went to the Admin in the first place.

He didn't even act like an Administrator. He was envious that I was helping with UEGA & that influenced his decision. I've never had a lot of time for insecure egotistical people that don't have the courage to stand up and help people.

But that's what the world is, a group of different opinions - how boring would it be if we all agreed

As I said, only came on here to chat to Panic! & say hi, do as you wish with my account - it's all good.

I might try and plug a thing I did with Tim from ABC Arts.

For those that are interested, ABC Arts is running a 4 part series on iView starting on January 16. Part 1 is basically a "What is the C/C" intro. I think the other 3 episodes are on Me & my zine making, and Clan photographers Matt Nethiem & Ashey Gilbertson as well as one on the music Big Ears did in Melbourne's drains and bridge room.

Regardless of the reasoning, no decent web site administrator should ever reveal a user's personal details to another user. I know I never would.

Whenever someone signs up here, they put at least a small level of trust in us that their private details (even if it is just an IP address and email) won't get handed out to other users.

Who's to know both sides of the story? What would be to stop a user with a vendetta against another forging a few threats from said user and coming to us for their life history and mother's maiden name?

Besides, in my opinion, an IP address for anything less than a federal case is very unlikely to prove useful—and if the cops did actually think an IP would help, they would have been able to acquire it themselves. That is their job, after all.
