Looking for equipment advice

I have a Nikon D300 and I'm looking to get a tripod and a lens for shooting in dark areas. Any recommendations? I'd need a tripod that isn't too heavy for long ventures and stuff that's slightly more reasonably priced.
Some examples of my photography is on akirum.tumblr.com
Also I've heard fisheye lens are good for night shooting, any opinions on that?

Fisheyes are cool in that you don't really need to focus them. Makes long exposures a lot easier, but all your photos look "fishy".

I've dragged a $20 kmart tripod through hell and back, I'm happy. Though Image stabilisation on the Lens can make a heck of a lot of difference.

That said suck at taking pictures. So take any advice with a grain of salt.

You can defish fisheyes (remove the distortion), ill post some de-fished fisheye night photos in a sec.

I took this with my rokinon 8mm, lens distortion corrected in lightroom. You can get some good results out of them and editing really helps. 314
