Does anyone here ever associate music with a memory. Today I was browsing around on youtube and I clicked on "Stolen Dance - Milky Chance" and started listening and immediately it reminded me of Anzac Drain, as it was my favorite song at the time I first explored that drain and I listened to it almost religiously. I'm the kind of person that if I like a song I'll put it on repeat and play it over and over again until I'm sick to death of it. It was nice to realise how such a simple thing like hearing a song could unlock memories I'd forgotten about. Another example is No Apologies - Bon Jovi. Whenever I hear this song it reminds me a video game called Runescape I used to play a lot back in 2010. I never played with the game sound on because it was just annoying and unnecessary so I usually had some music going in the background. Just so happens that Bon Jovi was what I was into at that time and No Apologies was my favorite. It truly is wonderful how the human mind functions.
At the moment I've got Pictures of You - The Last Goodnight on repeat. I feel like I've listened to it 100 times today and I still enjoy the words. Maybe another memory in the making. Who knows.
I feel like this song summarizes the cachinnating nature of the existentiality of our existence, and that it could really be a lesson to us all, you know?
I’ve been listening to the “Everything Sucks!” (a Netflix high school-esque series set in the 90s) soundtrack all day yesterday, then I started listening to some Brody Dalle and The Distillers. Now, Spotify’s gone on suggested tracks, and my now playing is “Myage” by Decendents.
I've been listening to this playlist since the morning, while getting ready for school. It's a pretty dull day today in Sydney, and I felt that listening to "coffeehouse music" gave a sense of relaxation and warmth.
