Hi all,

I used to be apart of a couple of different groups back when i was a teen (Never Caveclan), now 27. I want to explore again, miss the old days.

I really like the photos you guys post here, so i thought i would sign up and introduce myself,

Well my nick is Blinky (like the aussie Koala) im 27, male, and friendly.

my past:
I dont know how old you guys are or if you are familiar with "Melbourne Glass Bottle Works" now demolished Link "http://38.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m0g66kMk7E1qb5m1a.jpg" used to be right next to the West gate in vic in spotswood. well that was the first place i have ever explored, all i can say is WOW, 3-4 stories of abando about 4 acres of various warehouses and machinery, and the under ground levels i think only 1, amazing place, have/had heaps of photos somewhere or possibly now gone as its been 10 years lol. i did post them to flickr, but i cannot find that flickr page now.

Other places i have done,
Brickworks east suburbs
The Maze,
The Stairs (sunshine) i think that what they are called,
The Gasometer (incorrect name for that carpark looking thing, there was never a gasometer there.) See, Image (Early 2000's)
The Glue factory, - could be still there
The Insulation factory, - could be as well
The silos - definietely still there
Thomas A. Chemicals, - may be demolished not sure,

I know of a place, have drove past it heaps of times in the north east suburbs, this place is HUGE, but i have no one to go with, if i was to compare it, i would compare it with The glue factry.

Feel free to pm me, or whatever, looking to explore,

Cya,

It was a parking lot at one stage.
Not sure where all my text went on my blog, but: http://themurdoch.net/2010/12/31/crackrave/.
The link to the extra gallery has more info about it.
Sucks there's now a shitty Masters built on top of it :(.

Also, welcome! :D

Check out the spotty abando if you're a Westie (where they built a skatepark indoors years ago)
The old glass factory is still in use, just as storage for glass, pretty fun to check out. Very lax.
And of course the Bradmill.

There was a gasworks/gasometer there at one point. It caught fire at some point in the 80s. The reservoir beneath it was converted to a carpark (the site of several parties) before being demolished to make way for the Masters development around 2010.

See http://coblocalhistory.pbworks.com/w/pa ... nga%20Road and http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/tooronga-g ... lia.t52107 for info + pix.

ah thanks for finding those links, i had a look for anything on that carpark a few weeks ago but couldn't find anything tying it the gasometer - so it was converted, or was the carpark built from scratch?

I'm not too sure... my understanding is that at least one of the gasometers (there were two - look at http://1945.melbourne/ and scroll to the Toorak Rd/M1 intersection) had a submerged reservoir, so the top half sunk beneath ground level when it was discharging. When they demolished them, rather than filling both in with building waste (as was the style at the time) they drained one of them and built a carpark inside. So, converted...but again, that's my own theory, so might be wrong!
