I wont mention the exact location of the site/town it is in. However if you think you know which site i mean, you probably do, its the big oak factory in a small town a couple of hundred kilometres from sydney, Ive had a look at it a few times and it seems easily accessible, has anyone tried exploring it at all?

I know the one you're talking about. Made many-a-trip there on family vacations/long road trips :) Haven't checked it out, but I imagine it'd be a pretty sweet explore if it really is easily accessible. Maybe some of the Newcastle locals would be down for a trip?

I drive by it all the time and it looks tempting every time I do, the fence around it seems really run down and easily scalable, although it is in the public eye, there is a short tunnel under the railway line which seems to lead around to the other side of the property and possibly a more quiet access point.

I'll have to tag along the next time my parents head up to Hunter's Valley if it turns out this place is a decent explore/is still unexplored by then. Regardless of how impressive the explore turns out being, it'd still be an achievement :)

I did read just now while Googling though that it may still have some activity going on? I read that there was Ammonia leakage from one of the pipes and some workers had to be evacuated as a result, which infers that it may still be active? Not entirely sure, though.

I think everyone is getting mixed up

There were two. One in a small town and one in newy.

The newy one is active and owned by a food processor.

The one in the small town is now owned by a winery. But by all means go and check it out.

Yeah you're right, I was thinking about the one very close to Newy, didn't realise he said rural NSW

I've been referring to the one that is apparently owned by a winery, do you know if the winery uses it for anything?

I was going to check this out on the way back to qld when I drove past it still looked rather abandoned with another abandoned factory a short drive along the highway from it. Is it worth a look at or is it still in use ?
There is always a way in.
