Hey guys, I plan to visit Hercs pillar soon in a couple of weeks and ive just got a small enquiry .


Is it ground dry inside? or should I prepare for a couple of inches of water?

It definitely won't be ground dry. In saying that, I doubt it'll be over shoe level.

The pillars themselves can be in quite a lot of water though. (Waist deep)

Last time I heard the pillar section is pretty deep because one of the drains are clogged.

I wish :( I heard the brickworks over here in Canberra has an underground area that's scuba-able, not entirely sure why this would be, but if that's the case, then that's pretty cool :p But yeah, not entirely sure on the merits of said claim.

Me and my mates went to the drains in the middle of summer, defiantly a good idea, its so cool inside considering it was a 40º day.

Recently saw some photos of the outfall. Definitely a swim if you're going that way. Around 6' deep from memory.
