Trigger Trap phone remote trigger

This is related to all cameras that can be operated via Wifi, Infrared, Sound etc. The App can be downloaded for free here :- http://triggertrap.com/products/apps/mobile/

For Canon you can make your own Dongle (special box for isolation of camera to iphone) to provide triggering by looking here:-http://www.diyphotography.net/building- ... gger-trap/

If you are little bit technically minded this should be a walk in the park, I am making my own for some trials using the App for time-lapse shots etc.

I posted this here because I like the idea of diy photography equipment as normal equipment can cost a fortune!

Enjoy, hope it helps

Finished building the Dongle circuit a while ago and just tested it, wow what a piece of Software. You can trigger the shutter from sound/movement/seizmic input selection. Also shooting mode can be selected, straight shutter open/close, time lapse, distance lapse (using gps from phone) asymetric trigger (appears to speed up when played back etc etc.)

I highly recommend this App, I'll be using it heaps!

Check out their website video for mode descriptions etc.

Kind Regards

Think I'll try and DIY this for my Nikon.
Currently I've got a netbook controlling my camera over USB with a flaky app, will be good to replace this with a spare phone I have laying about.

MagicLantern on Canon allows you to do Audio & Movement triggers, also these days I just set up the shot and use the intervalometer to get the shot over and over while we pose as shadows with lots of backlighting so we all pretend to be ninjas.

Does one still get the Canon menu when using Magic Lantern with the option to go into the ML menu?

Well, got some parts from JayCar, will probably need a bit of research into parts as there are posts stating the supplied schematic does not work for D3200s but I shall build it up anyway and give it a test.

The Triggertrap web page states that for a Nikon D3200 you need a MC-DC2 adaptor for use with an iphone etc, please research/scour the internet to get the right set-up diagram/schematic for your Camera. Also don't forget you need a donor plug to attach to the MC-DC2 port in your camera.
I have found the pin layout for a Nikon D3200 as here:-

I have a MC-DC2 to 2.5mm plug from an intervalometer ready to go.

I also wouldn't blame anyone except myself if i break anything.

So my transistors just came in the mail, opened up my push-button shutter release to see what makes it tick and it appears to have a 2.5mm socket linked to ground on the end which is odd.
To save me ripping the connector off, I'll just string some extra wire out the back hole to utilise.

It's design is so simple, I love it.
