I have been doing some reading up, and am looking into going to this drain soon. Is it accessible without a key or breaking the lock?

Well I don't really see any other ways since cave clan won't divulge any information about it

Explore upstream.
I had a few hours there one day.
At an inlet, there is some bars cut by past explorers.
Seems like one hell of a drop in though - very deep.
You'd need climbing gear - and experience.

I suggest keep looking, and find an easy way :)

No reason to vandalize! I like to think of that sort of thing as a challenge :P

Have you even attempted to contact them?
The drain is quite dangerous and breaking locks is never a good idea.

Yeah, they don't give out that sort of information to non cave clan members which is fair enough. From what I read online the cave clan used to break the lock before they had a key so I'm guessing that was the only way in? I wouldn't mind swimming in dropping in from a height provided I could get out safely

Have you tried contacting the Cave Clan about joining? There's an expo coming up for new explorers. Why don't you send an email to the address on the C/C site?

Exploring using non-destructive methods is the go. Cool locations deserve a return visit.

Unrelated to the thread but related to the topics derivation, how long does it take to apply to the caveclan forums? I shot through an application a few days ago, but no response as of yet. Darkclarky mentioned the newbies expo to me as well, and as a result I'm interested.

As suggested, NEVER break a lock.

While people in the C/C may have used destructive methods in the past, there's a reason that doesn't happen anymore.

Drains have multiple points of entry. I'm sure you can find another way in.

It varies from state to state, but the general protocol is:

1. Go to the C/C website and contact the relevant state.
2. You'll receive an invite to the next New Explorer's expo.
3. After attending 1-3 of these (# varies from state) you'll be invited to join the Probationary forums of the C/C forums and to read & agree on the C/C Code of Ethics. You'll use these forums to; keep up to date with future New Explorer expos & other expos suitable for probationary members, correspond/organise expos with fellow probationary members and full members, post expo reports/photos etc.
4. Your probationary period will last a minimum of 6 months. Within this time it's important that you attend as many expos as possible and get to know/socialise with as many members as possible. Unless your a complete and utter tool and/or have blatantly disregarded the COE, after this period you'll be made a full member and given full access to C/C forums.
5. Profit!!!

You won't regret it ;)

Unless you've been invited to join, your account won't get activated. Have you been to a New Explorers Event in Sydney?

I just want to know 'IF' there is another way in? I can try find it myself. Also, is it a railcorp key you need? That's what I read online.

A lock or window may be broken temporarily but the memory will forever remain stagnant in your mind. Don't do it.
