Hi Daniel,
I've found the best method of sharing locations is in person.
When you meet people and you're all cool with each other, intel swapping is much more fruitful :)
Jaffs and Aleksander are Adelaide regulars on here. Ya'll should plan an outing.

Otherwise, Google and/or Google Earth is da bomb!

Cheers.

People aren't really into "trading locations" here, not being rude but I find the best approach is to just befriend people and talk about it all, it's easier because people don't hesitate after realising you're not a sketchy character and stuff and most people on this site are happy to help after they get to know you.

Getting locations from your fellow explorers is just a bonus IMO I always find greater value when I find and explore the place upon on my own initiative as opposed to tip offs. All my best explores have been self initiated.

I have found all my locations but I always have needed at least a photo to get some sort of idea of what I'm looking for. It's hard to use google maps because they update it infrequently and buildings that weren't abandoned are now and so forth. If that makes sense?

Your main interest is drains. Use google maps for drains.

Sorry f1ex. I'm not trying to cause problems for you in any way and it must be annoying watching this unfold. Google maps works great when trying to find drains but it's finding abandoned buildings that proves more of a challenge

I don't know what SA's public transport is like but maybe catch a few trains and look along the train tracks. Alternatively, Google works. You just have to know what to search for.

The g20 or g21 bus is good for looking for a couple drains. And the train from the city to belair will take you down past a drain i think and an abandonment or two.

Open your eyes.
Go for a walk.
Visit a suburb you don't live or go to school in.

+1

Get on a bike and cruise around older suburbs, look for overgrowth and cracked pavement - think more industrial areas to look too - companies tenancies come and go and also be sure to check areas with lots of new development like "once was farm land, now suburbia" kind of stuff...

Ha, you don't even need to talk to him. Doesn't he post them all on his site?

I saw that. Abandoned Melbourne do the same. I'm surprised there is anything left exploring in NSW and VIC with kids like that running around.

Lol I'd better not. It doesn't seem like a very good habit to take up.

I'm sure they'll all instagay themselves out of a hobby soon enough.

Tubby1 has been tagging the s*** out of a whole bunch of drains but he knows f*** all in terms of topsides. If you check out the locations he posts, they've mostly been trashed for years.

Even though he's been booted from here, I'm pretty sure he still has friends who log on, so consider what you post.

Abandoned houses? Looks like tubby is getting a bit desperate for spots. But he is showing more drains and roofs in his inst. account.
Just a harmless explorer. No need to waste taxes checking me ;)

This is the instagram post where tubby asks for help.

(I'm running low on new places to explore at the moment, someone please direct message me some new locations!)
No thanks tubby

Want to clarify that I love abandoned houses as well. Just not the ones that are tagged all over like the ones in tubby's instagram.
