That's what I was thinking about, but I'm guessing a lot of these things would be quite a bit further out from the shore though so would be relatively inaccessible without a boat.

Shipwrecks and other underwater relics (ie: old rusty anchors and other nautical stuff).

If you ever get the chance, my recommendation is the wrecks at Moreton Island. They are about 1km north of Tangalooma, and about 50-100m off the shore. The barge from the mainland conveniently stops right in the middle of them. If scuba diving isn't your thing, they still make for great snorkelling. About a dozen trawlers in total to explore (some only half-submerged too).
