Visiting a friend near GC so going to have a quick look at the train tunnel but that's hardly exploring ;-)

Originally I had more spare time but now just doing a drain or two in Brisbane on Sunday from about midday to 4.

Kinda off topic but I was in aquacave late last night/ early morning and there were some pretty fresh footprints in some mud was that you by chance?

Knowing that I was heading up to Palm Beach I did a bit of a Google and came across this baby...

A photo of the Tropic Sands Motor Inn by Sheridan Tighe http://www.sheridantighe.com/wp/

After we checked in I went for a quick drive and found that the Tropic Sands was just up the road about 2 minutes drive (including the required U-Turn). It pretty much looked the same as in the photo except a bit older and with loads more graffiti. "Cool" I thought - "I'll do it for sure" (I even had a quick look and saw a way in).

The next few days I was busy with family, a day-trip to Brisbane to do AquaCave & Toadie as well as checking out the Gold Coast abandoned railway tunnel.

Then on Wednesday I had a couple of hours to kill so I head off to the Tropic Sands (which keep in mind has been abandoned for two years) and got ready to feel the thrill of exploring an OK topside with Metawaffle's torch.

The first photo pretty much says it all.
