Hi all,

I wondering is anyone has any information regarding Eli's Tomb flow rate? Even better, the exact times and how often the tunnel is flooded or where to find information concerning it?

hi where is the location for Elis's Tomb? is it at the happy valley reservoir? if you do no where it is pleas tell me or send me a pm. thanks

I'm sorry I don't know the specific location of Eli's Tomb or general location at this time. Unfortunately, I'm not sure you'll be able to grab the location from anyone on this forum through.

Eli's Tomb is a water transfer tunnel that connects a resivour and a Weir so with some help you may be able to find the general area on Google Maps.

I have been many times, do not consider doing it at this time of year! The transfer times are not publicly available so dryer months provide more safety.. As for flow rates the tunnel completely fills at times and flows at between 8-10m/s so about 30,000l/s you won't outrun it and even at that pace you would have to hold your breath for 3 mins if you manage to not get torn to shreads on the blasted rock... There is a reason that sa water took time to specifically email cave clan about this tunnel

in saying that I don't mind taking others there once I trust them, it is literally a death trap and once I know you understand the code attached to eli's I will consider taking you

Done Elis Tomb last year, wasn't that thrilling better locations out there (Video on my Insta if you need proof same username). As for safety, this is a illegal hobby who is anyone to dictate because the cave clan or the egotistical awesome adelaide wish to keep it a secret, common sense is what exploring is all about and if you're too stupid to exercise this, perhaps you deserve to be flushed out by the water gates.

Its not ego its easy to find. Just if people are dumb enough to need to ask then they probably ain't smart enough to use the required common sense!

Common sense will never tell you when the automatic gates will open and send millions of litres of water into your face, pummeling you to death on the rocks and concrete. Not quite the same as say Adelaide Darkie and other places where the saying "no drains when it rains" will work for you.
